Porthtowan
Explore North Cornwall from a base in Porthtowan. Nestled along the stunning Atlantic coast, our accommodation offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. With a vast expanse of sand at low tide, Porthtowan is a family favourite for beach games, surfing, paddle boarding on a calm day, exploring rock pools, yoga, or simply relaxing on the beach. RNLI lifeguards cover the beach during the peak season.

For younger guests an adventure play park, complete with a Cornish pirate ship, can be found on the green behind the beach.

The stretch of the South West Coast Path around Porthtowan meanders through a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its rare plants and geology with numerous relics from Cornwall's mining history. The walk along the East cliffs rises and falls over hills of heather and grass adjacent to spectacular cliffs and the remains of Wheal Charlotte towards the beach and National Trust Cafe at Chapel Porth. The West cliff also has stunning views towards St Ives and the Godrevy lighthouse as it takes you past RAF Portreath before dropping down to Portreath Beach.

A great week on the north coast

A clean, warm, cosy and well equipped apartment. Good communication from the owner - Arrival and departure was very straightforward. Perfect location - 60 seconds from Porthtowan beach and the coast path. Plenty of exploring to be done with a great cafe/bar looking out over the Atlantic. A great place, will book again for next year.

A great place to stay in Porthtowan

Three if us stayed at The Palms and it was an ideal base for exploring the area. The apartment is just a couple of minutes stroll from the beach and local amenities of the village The apartment itself is comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen and everything else one would need. Parking right outside the door is a bonus too! The hosts are lovely and Sheila went above and beyond to reunite me with some items I left behind. This was much appreciated. Next time I am in Porthtowan I will definitely book to stay at The Palms.

Wonderful stay at the Palms
I had a fantastic experience staying at the Palms. Lovely bright and warm space, well equipped kitchen, and comfy furnishings. The sea view is magnificent. I spent many a peaceful afternoon reading by the patio doors and watching the wild seas. I was lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean every night. Porthtowan is such a special place with lots of incredible walks from the doorstep. Bring your wellies as some paths are muddy, but that's all part of the experience! The village has all the amenities needed - a great cafe, pubs and a local shop, with supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. A stay that was good for the soul. Thanks for having me!

We love staying at The Palms
The space was bright, cozy, and inviting, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Feels special to be so close to the sea, with low tide beach walks to Chapel Porth (so long as you watch out for the tidal cut off!) or stunning coast path walks available at any time. There is so much to explore, something for every age group and everything is within easy reach. We love Porthtowan and can't wait to come back again soon.
